Patient Compliance
At Pencol we know that patients want to comply with their prescribed medicinal treatment, but sometimes that just doesn’t happen. One reason we have found for this is that some patients have multiple medications that must be taken, have an allergy to the medication they need to take, have trouble swallowing the medication in pill form, don’t like the taste or may be confused about how and when to balance their medications. We believe that we can help. At Pencol we believe strongly in the Doctor, Patient, Pharmacist triad. We can offer the following services:
- Taking more than one drug? Drugs that are compatible can be made into a single formula that allows the patient to simplify and comply!
- Swallowing a pill impossible? We can compound most prescribed drugs into a variety of delivery methods including injections, lollipops, oral solutions/suspensions/syrups and topical creams and gels.
- Can’t stand the taste? We have over 30 different flavors that we can use to compound a better tasting medicine.
- Confused about when to take what? Pencol pharmacists are ready to consult with patients about their medicine schedules to see how to make taking their medicines at the right time less of a chore.
- ‘Fido’ not happy? We can even help our pet friends with flavored treats, transdermal creams and gels or eye drops. We want ‘Fido’ to stay by your side not hide under the couch!
New Service Provided by Pencol!
For Doctors who prescribe and patients who take Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy, we are proud to announce our new BHRT Patient Follow-Up service to assist with providing the best possible BHRT patient care. We know that BHRT is both an art and a science and that the first few months of using BHRT can make the difference between success and frustration. We are as committed as you are to seeing BHRT successful!
As a new service to Doctors who prescribe BHRT and would like us to follow-up with their patients, a Pencol staff member will contact each interested BHRT patient with a quick follow-up survey approximately one week before a prescription refill is needed. If the patient is having trouble with or questions about their BHRT, we will be able to trouble shoot those concerns. Sometimes the difficulty may be in the application of the BHRT cream, or the dosage may not be just right. Some problems we can assist with and others we will contact your office about before refilling your patients’ prescription.
We will provide this service only to Doctors and patients who would like our assistance. How can we help you with patient compliance?
